Help stop a painful and unnecessary animal surgery. “Convenience devocalization” cuts away an animal’s vocal chords in a painful and even dangerous procedure to quiet dogs — and even cats — for mere convenience.
Massachusetts legislators now have an opportunity to end this unnecessary suffering.
Use your voice to help animals keep theirs. Urge Massachusetts to pass [...]

This photo was taken when the dog park was divided into two parts. A free pooping side and a controlled pooping side. This guy was just one of many looking for a way out, where he could poop freely. I’ll never forget the speech by Dog Regan… “Mr. Dogachaev, tear down this fence!” Still [...]

I was at this really cool coffee shop called the Purple Cow, right here in Portland, Maine. I looked behind me and low and behold, there was a dog there! I forgot to ask the dog’s name. I’m going to say that this boy is named “Fluffy.” If you own him or her, please let [...]

Met this friendly boy on in the Old Port, right here in Portland, Maine. He was on a walk with his owners, but they were nice enough to let me snap this quick photo. Sometimes when you meet a dog, you can tell that they have a happy and good life. This was the case [...]

This is scooter. In the spirit of the holiday, he loved me, then barked at me, then loved me again. He’s a good boy.

I was walking around the old port and I spotted this cool looking dog, when I asked if I could get a photo, I was told “you’ve already got him, this is Petey!” I had to get a follow up. The official update is that he is doing AWESOME. I first met him when [...]

I had high hopes when I gifted a dog DNA test to someone who I knew would use it on Quimby. It had been, when we adopted Quimby, we were told that the only thing they really knew was that he was part lab. This theory was confirmed by several vets and animal care [...]

This is Samson. I lived with him once. He’s a husky/rottweiler mix, and is very, very cool. he actually reminds me a lot of Quimby.

Quimby Update:
Quimby has been recovering nicely. His elbow was swollen for a long time. He saw the vet a couple times who assured him it was normal, and finally, it [...]

Anytime a dog needs to get surgery, it’s not a fun experience. When Quimby had his surgery, I remember how glad I was that he didn’t have to wear a cone around his neck, so I’m feeling for Daisy. Daisy had to have surgery on her eye and is going to have to keep this [...]
