This photo was taken when the dog park was divided into two parts. A free pooping side and a controlled pooping side. This guy was just one of many looking for a way out, where he could poop freely. I’ll never forget the speech by Dog Regan… “Mr. Dogachaev, tear down this fence!” Still brings a wiggle to my tail.

Photo has been enhanced (poorly) to remove embarrassing non beard double chinnage.

Bo

Met this friendly boy on in the Old Port, right here in Portland, Maine. He was on a walk with his owners, but they were nice enough to let me snap this quick photo. Sometimes when you meet a dog, you can tell that they have a happy and good life. This was the case with Bo.

I was walking around the old port and I spotted this cool looking dog, when I asked if I could get a photo, I was told “you’ve already got him, this is Petey!” I had to get a follow up. The official update is that he is doing AWESOME. I first met him when he was very, very young. I think like 3 months old. He is featured in this video along with a younger looking Quimby. I think he was happy to say hello. I was happy to see him!

This is Sampson. He is pretty sweet. I met him near Standard Baking Company, here in Portland Maine. He was super friendly and cool. Seems like a classy pooch!

Upon looking at this, man I look awful! I need to get some more sun in my life. I’m like a pasty dough boy from sitting in front of a computer screen all day. I look like I’ve been proofed all night and am ready to bake. Ew.

This is my sisters dog, Livia. She was rescued from a puppy mill. Until she was adopted she had a very hard life, and still doesn’t trust strangers. My sister loves her unconditionally, and gets really angry when I say Livia looks like a rat-dog, so I won’t say that. My point is even if a dog seems damaged, it’s usually nothing a little love and patience can’t cure.

We are both always this freaked out by the outside world.

Quimby loves music. This photo was taken the first time we got him. I don’t remember what I was singing to him, but I know he was into it. He loves listening to me play. So do the cats for that matter. I try to keep it happy and upbeat, because I notice when it goes minor, the animals usually leave. Pretty interesting.

What a weekend! First, I went to see the Pixies in Boston on Friday, and then went to see Phish right here in Portland on Sunday! The show was completely off the hook, and I will have photos and a couple of videos up here first thing tomorrow. Unfortunately, I was a little too drunk and unable to get any photos of Phish or Pixies dogs. They may have been some, but I couldn’t find them.

Sunday we took Quimby to the dog park so he could get some rest before we hit the show, cause obviously he wasn’t coming with us. It was wet as anything, and of course he got soaked and muddy and had a blast. I kneeled down to get a couple of shots, and got covered in mud, stepped in dog poop no less than 3 times, and was covered in a slobbery mix by the time we left. All in all a great visit to the park! I also ran into Petey, who is doing great, and played really well with Quimby!

The dog here was a really sweet puppy whose name I did not get as there were too many people at the park. He was real cute, and if you know his name, let me know!

This is Smudge. I’m going to make up a story on how he was named. Smudge’s owners were huge fans of the movie Misery. Their favorite scene in the movie was when Paul Sheldon shows Annie Wilks that he needs better paper, and makes something like this:

"It's called hobbiling, Paul"

"It's called hobbiling, Paul"

Everyone should name their dog after something from the mind of Stephen King EXCEPT Cujo. Torrance, Andy, even Stand By Me are acceptable. Just not Cujo. I kind of lost where i was going with this, so here’s me and the dog.
